Michael Forret Making Jump To Double-A
15 seconds agoBaltimore Orioles pitching prospect Michael Forret is opening the campaign at the Double-A level. Forret is considered the No. 2 pitching prospect in the Baltimore system, only behind Chayce McDermott, according to MLB Pipeline. The Orioles drafted Forret in the 13th round of the 2023 MLB Draft, and he is already receiving the call to move to the upper levels of the minor leagues. Last summer, the 20-year-old made his professional debut at Low-A. Across 39 2/3 innings, Forret posted a solid 3.18 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He struck out 49 batters and served up 13 free passes. He then moved up to High-A Aberdeen, where he logged 60 innings to the tune of a 4.35 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. He tallied an impressive 70 punchouts at this level and allowed 29 walks. Dynasty managers should continue to monitor Forret's development as he could find himself rising on prospect boards throughout the summer.
