Michael Brantley Set To Begin Baseball Activities
3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley (knee) will begin baseball activities Sunday. He was placed on the 10-day injured list with right knee discomfort last Wednesday. The 34-year-old missed over a week with a sore knee but wasn't put on the injured list until Wednesday. He is eligible to return next week, but the Astros will monitor the outfielder to see how his knee responds during baseball activities. Brantley is considered day-to-day. He slashed .315/.367/.441 over 116 games before the injury. Chas McCormick will continue to handle center field duties while Brantley is sidelined. McCormick can be used as a streamer in deep-leagues after hitting .235 (4-for-17) with a home run, five RBI, and six strikeouts over his last seven contests.
