Michael Brantley Out For Second Straight Game Monday
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley (wrist) is out of the lineup for the second straight game on Monday against the Angels. Brantley sat out Sunday's game as he dealt with wrist soreness after being hit by a pitch in Saturday's game. Manager Dusty Baker had previously said that he did not anticipate Brantley needing an IL stint, and that Tuesday was a likely target date for his return to the lineup. Brantley has been one of the hottest hitters to start the year, as he is 6-for-9 with four doubles, a home run, two RBI and five runs scored in three games. Aledmys Diaz will start in left for the series opener with the Angels, and hopefully Brantley will be back on Tuesday.
