Michael Badgley, Tristan Vizcaino Competing For Kicking Job
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Michael Badgley has been competing with Tristan Vizcaino to see who will get the starting job. Badgley took advantage of the opportunity against the 49ers. He had two first-half opportunities. Badgley made an extra-point attempt in the first quarter. The biggest concern for the Chargers has been Badgley's ability to nail kicks from 45 yards and beyond. Badgley hit a 50-yard field goal that gave the Chargers a 10-2 lead before halftime. Vizcaino did not have any attempts against the 49ers. However, he was able to hit field goals from 21 and 38 yards out against the Rams. The competition is close heading into the third and final preseason game on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks. Whoever wins the job could have some streaming appeal in deeper leagues in an offense that could be quite explosive on a weekly basis with quarterback Justin Herbert, the 2020 Offensive Rookie of the Year, running the show.
