The New York Mets have promoted reliever Tyler Bashlor to the Major Leagues from Double-A Binghamton for Monday’s series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates, sending down pitcher Chris Flexen in a corresponding transaction. Bashlor has been excellent for Binghamton in 2018, pitching to a 2.63 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 30 strikeouts against 12 walks (2.50 K/BB ratio) across 24 innings pitched (11.25 K/9). Bashlor's best pitch is his fastball, which routinely sits in the mid-to-upper 90s, but he needs to get better at throwing his breaking balls. He’s not going to carry much fantasy relevance right now, but with his strikeout potential, it would not be all that surprising to see him come into fantasy appeal down the line for the Amazins.--John SmithRead More News
