Mets Meet With Wilson Ramos
6 years agoThe New York Mets had a meeting with free-agent catcher Wilson Ramos on Monday. The Mets clearly aren't comfortable with using injury-prone Travis D'Arnaud as their primary backstop next season. Ramos has been somewhat injury prone in recent years but is one of the more underrated hitting catchers in baseball when he's healthy. The 31-year-old was an All-Star last year and in 2016 and hit a combined .306/.358/.487 with 15 home runs and 70 RBI in 111 games between Tampa and Philadelphia last year. He's on the radar for those in single-catching leagues once the top names are off the board.
