Mets Deal For Rich Hill Is Imminent
3 years agoFollowing up a prior report, the New York Mets are reportedly imminently close to acquiring Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Rich Hill. The Mets will be sending relief pitcher Tommy Hunter and 2020 fourth-round draft pick catcher Matt Dyer, currently in Double-A, to the Rays in exchange for Hill. Hill has been very solid in 2021, posting a 3.87 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and a 91:36 K: BB across 95 1/3 innings. He will immediately enter the Mets injury-depleted starting rotation. Hill's fantasy value should remain unchanged with this move. He now moves to a similarly competitive ball club, and a similarly situated pitcher-friendly park in Citifield. Citifield is ranked one spot higher than Tropicana Field in terms of park factors for home runs and runs allowed, according to ESPN.
