Mekhi Sargent Expected To Be The Titans RB2
3 years agoTennessee Titans running back Mekhi Sargent is expected to be the backup behind undisputed starter Derrick Henry. "He was a decisive runner, he hit the hole, he tried to run through contact when somebody tried to tackle him," said general manager Jon Robinson. The Titans placed RB Darrynton Evans (knee) on the injured reserve earlier in the week, and he won't be eligible to return until Week 4. Sargent, who had an impressive preseason, will be the backup running back to star Derrick Henry. He led the Titans in rushing in the preseason and earned his spot on the 53-man roster; logging 49 carries for 187 yards and a touchdown over three games. Henry, Sargent, and Jeremy McNichols are currently the Titans' top running backs on the depth chart. The undrafted free agent is Henry's backup running back fantasy managers should target in upcoming fantasy drafts in the short term until Evans is activated from the injured reserve.
