Max Scherzer To Throw Simulated Game On Thursday
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer (oblique) is slated to throw a simulated game on Thursday. The 37-year-old is working his way back from a high-grade left oblique strain. He initially suffered the injury on May 18. Scherzer threw on flat ground from about 60 feet on Tuesday, which marked progress for the three-time Cy Young winner. He's likely still another few weeks away from going out on a rehab assignment, but all indications are that he's trending in the right direction at this point. Scherzer made eight starts this year prior to the injury and went 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP.
