3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer (groin) threw some pitches off of flat ground in right field of Nationals Park on Friday. Assuming he has no pain later today or tomorrow, he is expected to throw off a mound on Saturday. Scherzer was placed on the injured list this past Tuesday, though the move was retroactive to last Saturday. He's expected to only need the minimum of 10 days on the injured list. If all goes according to plan, he should make his next start on Tuesday, June 22 against the Philadelphia Phillies.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
