Max Scherzer Feeling Healthy After Start On Friday
4 years agoWashington Nationals starter Max Scherzer felt healthy during his first start of the spring on Friday. Scherzer was dealing with a left ankle sprain but navigated through his first spring start without any health complaints, pitching 1 2/3 frames while allowing a pair of walks and runs, one hit, and striking out two batters. The 36-year-old said he can now pitch 100 percent on the ankle- it won't be any cause for concern as he tries to build himself up for the 2021 season. Scherzer is still the same elite swing-and-miss guy he's always been, but he's probably more of a low-end ace at this point in his career. His 3.46 FIP- compared to a 3.74 ERA- and .355 BABIP suggest he was slightly unlucky in 2020, making him worthy of his 24 ADP.
