Max Scherzer Allows Three Homers But Earns Win Tuesday
1 year agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer didn't turn in a great start but earned the win in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Diamondbacks. Scherzer pitched six innings, allowing four runs on five hits (including three home runs) and two walks with nine strikeouts. The veteran has done a decent job this season but has taken a step back from what fantasy managers have been used to, going 8-2 with a 4.03 ERA, 10.23 K/9 rate, and 1.74 HR/9 rate. The biggest worry is the number of homers he has allowed, which has never been an issue in his career. That being said, fantasy managers should trust in his history even if he were to experience a bit of regression. If he makes another start before the All-Star break it would be at the Padres.
