Max Muncy Inks Two-Year Extension With Dodgers
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy has signed a two-year contract extension worth $24 million with the club. The deal contains a $10 million club option for the 2026 season. It was a typical low-average, high-power season for the veteran who hit just .212 but also pounded 36 home runs while producing 105 RBI across 579 trips to the plate. Capable of playing third base, second base, and first base, the 33-year-old replaced a $14 million club option for the 2024 season with the new two-year extension and club option for 2026. The 2023 season marked the fourth time in five non-COVID seasons that Muncy slugged at least 35 home runs since joining the Dodgers prior to the 2018 campaign. He remains a high-end fantasy option at second base while also retaining third-base eligibility.
