Max Muncy 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Veteran Infielder Can Provide Power Numbers

He was able to return to the lineup for the Dodgers' postseason run and help them secure their eighth World Series title. When healthy, Muncy slashed .232/.358/.494 with 15 home runs, 47 runs scored, and 48 RBI in 293 plate appearances during the regular season. The power has never been in question for the lefty-slugger, as he hit 36 home runs in 2023, but over the past three seasons, he has yet to hit better than a .232 average. During his career, Muncy has also been strikeout prone, averaging a 24.7% strikeout rate. As we look forward to the 2025 season, Muncy should continue to bat in the middle of this potent Dodgers lineup, batting behind hitters like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith, which should provide him with plenty of opportunities to drive runs in. Fantasy managers looking for a powerful bat in a lineup expected to score many runs will want to target Muncy in drafts. That said, they should not count on him providing managers with a high average in category leagues and should expect him to continue striking out at nearly a 25% clip.
