Max McGreevy Returns To The Zurich Classic Of New Orleans
36 mins agoAfter a solid stretch of four straight top-40 finishes earlier this season, Max McGreevy has hit a rough patch, missing two cuts and failing to place better than T49 in his last four starts. He'll look to regain some momentum at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where he's once again teaming up with Sam Stevens. The duo last played this event together in 2023 but missed the cut—something they'll be eager to flip this time around, especially with McGreevy showing stronger form overall in 2024. He's been solid in the ball-striking department, ranking 34th in strokes gained off the tee per round (plus-0.324), 42nd in approach (plus-0.370), and 11th in driving accuracy. However, his short game has been his Achilles' heel, ranking 150th around the green and 116th in putting, losing a combined 0.393 strokes per round. The team format might provide just the boost he needs to tighten up that part of his game, but with both players carrying a mix of upside and inconsistency, this remains a true boom-or-bust pairing.
