Max Fried Holds Reds To One Run Over Seven Innings
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried had a strong outing in Friday's 9-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He pitched seven innings and allowed five hits, no walks and one earned run while striking out four. He earned the win to improve to 8-2 on the year. The southpaw has now recorded quality starts in eight of his last nine outings and he owns a 2.66 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP on the year. He's maintained a career-best 6.0 K/BB ratio on the year thanks to his 96th percentile walk rate (4.0%). He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which will be against the St. Louis Cardinals next Wednesday.
