Max Fried Close To Resuming Throwing
2 years agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (forearm) is close to resuming throwing, so it seems realistic to expect him back sometime around the All-Star break in early July. Fried was placed on the injured list with a strained left forearm two weeks ago, and he was recently cleared to resume lifting weights. Fantasy managers are going to need to remain patient with the 29-year-old southpaw, and he should remain stashed in all formats. Once he begins throwing bullpen sessions again, he'll eventually need to go on a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment as well. Getting Fried back at any point in July might be a best-case scenario for the Braves and fantasy managers. Before the injury, he had gone 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA (3.06 FIP), 1.08 WHIP, six walks and 25 strikeouts in 26 innings over just five starts.
