Maverick McNealy Trying To Stop Bad Stretch In Texas
1 day agoMaverick McNealy had a very nice 2025 to start. However, the American golfer has missed the cut in his previous two events. Worse, the Florida type of weather most are used to seeing is expected in Texas for Thursday and Friday perhaps. It is strange that McNealy took a few weeks off after the Genesis Invitational and everything skewed off. Seeing two second rounds of 80 or worse is rare but it happened. The greens should be slow for most if not all four rounds. McNealy stands at +5000 on DraftKings but it is hard to be sure of even what to expect from a DFS standpoint. For what it is worth, the last two events have thrown several main metrics off kilter. It may be best to see how McNealy performs first at the Texas Children's Houston Open.

Maverick McNealy Misses The Cut For The First Time In 2025
2 weeks agoMaverick McNealy missed the cut at last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational and will now focus on preparing for The PLAYERS Championship, held at TPC Sawgrass. Before his missed cut, McNealy had recorded three top-10 finishes in seven starts this season. Historically, he has performed well at The PLAYERS Championship, finishing tied for ninth in 2024, T60 in 2023, and T46 in 2022. Over the past 12 months, McNealy ranks in the 58th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is important, as over 32% of approach shots at last year's tournament came from this distance. McNealy may go overlooked this week, but he could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups.

Maverick McNealy Tries To Go One Step Further At Bay Hill
3 weeks agoMaverick McNealy has had quite the nice start to 2025. The American golfer has three Top 10 results in six events. That includes nearly winning The Genesis Invitational a few weeks ago. McNealy got better each day at the second go with Torrey Pines. This culminated in a Sunday 64 which nearly got him into the win column. That surge pushed his numbers as high as +4500 via DraftKings. McNealy does not fare well in the model rankings and course comparables at Bay Hill. However, the first 24 rounds of 2025 give him a helping hand. Strokes gained overall (1.253) ranks 14th and total birdies (115) rank 6th. If the course plays less windy than expected on Thursday and Sunday, McNealy could be a decent Top 10 or 20 betting option again.

Maverick McNealy A Volatile Play At Genesis Invitational
1 month agoMaverick McNealy has had an up-and-down start to the year, recording two top-10 finishes and three finishes outside the top 40. He now returns to Torrey Pines for the Genesis Invitational, the same venue as the Farmers Insurance Open just a few weeks ago, where McNealy finished T52. Good driving is crucial for success at this course, and while McNealy ranks just 70th in driving distance and 116th in accuracy, he has gained 4.140 strokes off the tee through his first five events. He also ranks in the 36th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards, a range that accounts for 39.6% of all approach shots at Torrey Pines. While McNealy has solid course history here and is coming off a top-10 finish at the WM Phoenix Open, fantasy managers should carefully weigh their options before committing to his $7,800 price tag on DraftKings.

Maverick McNealy Seeking Form From Sentry This Week
2 months agoMaverick McNealy looked great early in Hawaii. The American golfer stayed in contention at the Sentry all week and weekend. The result was a T-8 that offered hope for the start of 2025. Instead, McNealy has not been all that bad just not good enough. There has been that one round which seems to doom McNealy. At Pebble Beach, it was the third round 73. Then there was Torrey Pines and that final round 77. Also, the Sony Open had that 73 after a bounce back 65. Part of the problem is putting. McNealy is losing -0.118 putts in 2025. Last year he was 29th in putting and 9th overall in strokes gained (1.037). Can McNealy get back to the golfer people saw in 2024? If he can play like he did to start the year, then maybe.
