3 years agoMatthew Wolff starts off 2022 at the American Express after finishing the fall swing strong with four consecutive top-20 performances, including a fifth-place finish at the Mayakoba Classic and a runner-up result at the Shriners. Although he may have some rust to shake off since he hasn't played since November, Wolff is no stranger to a long layoff. Most notably, he finished 15th at the U.S. Open after having not played for four months. In his two appearances at the AMEX, he's finished 40th and 61st. If he is looking to contend this week, he'll have to make more birdies than he has here in the past. He's 13th in this field over his last 36 rounds in BoB gained, so that's promising.--Owen Vrabel - RotoBaller
