2 months agoFlorida Panthers left wing Matthew Tkachuk tallied three points during their 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday evening. Tkachuk would tally the primary assist on Sam Bennett's opening goal in the first period. Later in the third, Tkachuk would tally another helper, this time on the power-play, and would cap off his evening with the empty-netter. He also logged two shots on goal and two penalty minutes in this contest. This was his second three-point night over his past three contests. Through 14 games this month, Tkachuk has found the back of the net three times and added nine assists. In 47 games, the 27-year-old has tallied 47 points and should be expected to remain a point-per-game player for the remainder of the season. He will look to stay hot on Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoFlorida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk (groin) was placed on long-term Injured Reserve Sunday. He has missed four games due to a groin injury, and it remains uncertain when the Panthers will have their star winger back. Tkachuk is the team's second-highest scorer with 57 points, having tallied 22 goals and 35 assists in 52 appearances. During Tkachuk's absence, Mackie Samoskevich has filled a top-six role. Samoskevich has notched two goals in the past four games, boosting his tally for the season to 10 goals and 19 points. He also excels in the physical side of the game, having recorded 84 hits in 52 appearances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoFlorida Panthers left wing Matthew Tkachuk (groin) will remain sidelined during Thursday's contest when the Panthers host the Oilers in a Stanley Cup rematch. Tkachuk has missed their previous two contests. Head coach Paul Maurice noted that the star winger is out "near-term." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Saturday evening when they host the Calgary Flames. Tkachuk sustained this injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off. Before the international break, Tkachuk was riding a six-game point streak. During this stretch, he tallied 13 points (seven goals) with 30 shots on goal and four power-play points. Through 52 total games, Tkachuk has found the back of the net 22 times. Fantasy managers should expect Carter Verhaeghe to continue to operate as the top left wing with Mackie Samoskevich slotting in on the second line.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

1 month agoFlorida Panthers left wing Matthew Tkachuk (groin) will not play on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators. The 27-year-old sustained this injury during the 4 Nations-Face Off and has yet to see NHL return after the international break. Tkachuk saw doctors earlier in the week and is waiting for further evaluation. Fantasy managers should expect the 27-year-old to remain sidelined for the foreseeable future. Given that he continues to seek medical evaluation suggests that he is not on the verge of a return. Before the injury, Tkachuk tallied 22 goals with 35 helpers across 52 contests. While he remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Carter Verhaeghe to see time as the top left wing, with Mackie Samoskevich slotting in on the second unit.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

1 month agoFlorida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk (lower body) will miss Saturday's matchup against the Seattle Kraken. The star winger sustained a lower-body injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off and will be sidelined for at least one game. Tkachuk's first opportunity to return will be on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators. With Tkachuk out of the lineup, Mackie Samoskevich will start Saturday's contest in the top six, skating alongside Sam Bennett and Evan Rodrigues. Samoskevich has played well at times, amassing 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in 48 games during his rookie year. The presence of Bennett and Rodrigues, who have combined for 60 points, elevates Samoskevich's fantasy value.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
