Matthew Stafford Posts Disappointing Effort In Lions Win
5 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford looked uncomfortable all game against a normally shaky Eagles secondary, completing 18-of-32 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown in the Lions win. The Eagles front seven wasn't the issue for Stafford, who avoided getting sacked and was hit just three times all game, but he looked off nonetheless. His lone touchdown throw came at a crucial time, hitting wide receiver Marvin Jones early in the fourth quarter for what turned out to be the game-winning score, but he was otherwise unspectacular. Stafford has a great opportunity to get back on track in Week 4 with the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town. He'll remain a high-upside QB2 for that matchup.
