Matthew Stafford Leads Lions to Win Over Patriots
6 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had an effective game on Sunday, finishing 27 of 36 for 262 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions offense did a great job keeping the Patriots offense off the field, going on long, methodical drives the entire game. Stafford was able to take advantage of a Patriots defense that was missing several starters, en route to the victory. He hit both Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay for touchdowns, and overall he looked comfortable all night. He did throw an interception on the opening drive of the third quarter, but he shook it off and led the Lions to victory in the second half. Next week, they face the Cowboys in Dallas, where Stafford will look to continue the team's momentum.
