Matthew Fitzpatrick Seeking Consistency
4 years agoMatthew Fitzpatrick will make his second start of the season after missing the cut at the U.S. Open. Fitzpatrick has struggled to find consistency over his last several starts. He has three top-10 finishes over his last six starts, but he has also missed three cuts. Fitzpatrick was good with his putter in the 2020 season, ranking second in strokes gained. He is also precise with his driver, ranking 38th in driving accuracy percentage in 2020. Positioning the ball in the fairway will give him a good opportunity to attack greens this week. His inconsistency as of late makes him a volatile DFS play at $8,900.

Matt Fitzpatrick Looking For Consistency At Valero Texas Open
2 weeks agoMatt Fitzpatrick struggled at The PLAYERS Championship, carding a 78-72 and ultimately missing his second cut of the season. Along with his missed cuts, Fitzpatrick has four top-50 finishes, including two top-25s. He now looks to find some consistency at the Valero Texas Open, an event he's played just once, finishing T10 in 2024. In that performance, Fitzpatrick gained over 7.5 strokes around the green and with his putter — areas where he has not been as sharp this season. He currently ranks 60th in putting (0.193 strokes gained per round), but sits 165th around the green (minus-0.356), 151st on approach (minus-0.386), and 153rd from tee to green (minus-0.549). Despite these struggles, Fitzpatrick ranks in the 98th percentile for greens in regulation from 200-plus yards, an area that accounted for 28.7% of all approach shots here last year. While he hasn't played his best golf this season, his strong finish here last year and ability to hit greens make Fitzpatrick a player that fantasy managers should not overlook at his $7,800 price tag on DraftKings.

Matt Fitzpatrick A Shaky Play Heading Into PLAYERS
1 month agoThus far in 2025, it has been a relatively steady year for Matt Fitzpatrick. He has made the cut in four out of five events and has two top-25 finishes. His course history at TPC Sawgrass is as boom or bust as anyone in the field. In his eight times playing the stadium course, he has missed the cut four times, has two top-10s, and placed 41st or worse twice. The former U.S. Open winner has had trouble controlling his irons with a -.0162 strokes gained approach to green, ranking 162nd on tour. Solid short iron play and precision accuracy off the tee are essential to succeed at the stadium course. Trusting Fitzpatrick this week is tough, especially at his $9,300 price tag on FanDuel.

Matt Fitzpatrick Tries To Get Putter Working At Torrey Pines
2 months agoMatt Fitzpatrick did not have the best opening round last week in Scottsdale. The English golfer's 72 led him to miss the cut at the WM Phoenix Open. Now, the Genesis Invitational was harsh to Fitzpatrick in 2024 as a starting 75 paved the way to a missed cut. With the scene shifting to Torrey Pines South Course, Fitzpatrick might have a little better luck. Then again, that is a bit of an unknown. What is known is Fitzpatrick is getting the ball on the green. Greens in regulation rank 11th early in 2025 at 76.11%. Putting has been an issue with the golfer averaging 31.33 putts per round early in 2025 for Round 1. The Round 4 average stands at 29.5. Getting settled in early will be vital for Fitzpatrick.

Matt Fitzpatrick Worth Considering At WM Phoenix Open
2 months agoMatt Fitzpatrick has competed in just two PGA events this year, with finishes of T48 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T24 at The Sentry. He now looks ahead to the WM Phoenix Open, where he has played three times, with results of T15, T29, and T10. This course favors good drivers of the ball, and Fitzpatrick ranks 38th in strokes gained off the tee and 37th in driving accuracy. However, there is concern with Fitzpatrick's approach game, as he ranks in just the 58th percentile for approach shots from 150-200 yards, a distance that accounts for 42.6% of all approach shots at TPC Scottsdale. With solid course history and accurate driving on his side, Fitzpatrick is worth considering for fantasy managers at his price tag of $7,700 on DraftKings.
