Matthew Fitzpatrick Impresses in U.S. Open
6 years agoMatthew Fitzpatrick had a wild final round Sunday in the U.S. Open, logging five birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey for a score of 70. The young Englishman was in the hunt for a top ten finish before his struggles on the back nine dropped him into a tie for 12th. It was still an impressive tournament for the 23-year-old and marked his best career finish in the U.S. Open. Fitz has now made the cut four straight years in America's national championship and is displaying the type of elite skills that will make him a contender in major championships for years to come. He will not be in action at this week's Travelers Championship. DFS fans should keep Fitzpatrick in mind when the Open Championship rolls around next month.
