Matthew Boyd Tosses Scoreless Inning In Rehab Game
2 years agoSeattle Mariners left-hander Matthew Boyd (elbow) tossed a scoreless and hitless inning in his latest minor league rehab outing for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday night, walking none and striking out two. Boyd has now made five rehab appearances for Tacoma and has allowed two earned runs and four hits while walking none and striking out 12 in seven innings pitched. The 31-year-old southpaw is getting close to being ready to make his 2022 season debut with the Mariners, where he'll provide Seattle's bullpen with a valuable and experienced relief arm. Boyd won't be much to look at for fantasy purposes, however, and he's never saved a game in his seven-year MLB career with the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers.
