Matthew Boyd Reinstated From Injured List
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners reinstated relief pitcher Matthew Boyd (elbow) from the 60-day injured list on Thursday and recalled outfielder Taylor Trammell from Triple-A Tacoma with rosters expanding. Boyd will work exclusively in relief for the Mariners as he makes his 2022 debut in the big leagues. The 31-year-old left-hander had flexor tendon surgery last September and has been working his way back to the majors ever since. The good news is he fanned 14 in eight innings on his minor league rehab assignment, so he appears to be fully healthy and ready to go. Boyd will be a nice real-life piece of the bullpen with plenty of experience, but he's not really on the fantasy radar to close out the season.
