Matthew Boyd Experiences Elbow Soreness On Monday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd (forearm) had his live batting practice session cut short on Monday. He was feeling some elbow discomfort while throwing. The 31-year-old underwent forearm flexor tendon surgery last September and has been working his way back slowly ever since. He began throwing bullpen sessions in late April and had been trending toward a rehab assignment, but the team will likely have to make some adjustments to his recovery plan now. Boyd spent the past six-plus seasons with the Detroit Tigers before signing with the Giants this offseason. Last year, over 15 starts, he went 3-8 with a 3.89 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
