Matt Wisler Implodes In The Eighth Inning On Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Wisler (3-4) allowed two runs on two hits and a hit batter in 1/3 of an inning during Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians. He was tagged with his third loss of the season. The 28-year-old entered the eighth frame to protect a 2-1 lead but was saddled with the loss after yielding two runs across 2/3 of an inning. It was his third blown save of the season. He owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 52 strikeouts across 38 1/3 innings in 2021. The Rays right-hander has racked up seven holds on the season and is mainly an option in deep-league formats, which rewards solds (saves and holds).
