Matt Wilkinson Dominant On Friday Evening
3 months agoCleveland Guardians starting pitching prospect Matt Wilkinson showcased his high-strikeout potential once again on Friday evening. He tallied seven strikeouts across six shutout frames, allowing just two hits and one free pass. This was his fifth straight outing of striking out at least six batters. During this span, the 10th-round pick in last year's draft has held a stellar 1.78 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and a 10:36 BB:K ratio. The 21-year-old opened the season at Single-A and earned a promotion to High-A in late May. The southpaw has tallied an eye-catching 144 strikeouts in just 92 innings. Wilkinson could earn a brief taste of Double-A at the end of the summer, given his current pace. Dynasty managers should pay close attention to him as he is flashing immense strikeout potential in the lower levels of the minor leagues.
