Matt Wallace will make his first career start at Torrey Pines at this week's US Open. Wallace has missed a couple cuts at the US Open and finished T12 in 2019. He is solid with approach shots, ranking 17th in strokes gained approaching the green. Wallace is a decent putter but will need to scramble more effectively if he wants to put himself in contention. There are things to like about Wallace's game, but he seems to have more downside than upside this week. --Connor Wege

Matt Wallace could be a value play for fantasy managers at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. The 34-year-old Brit and previous Tour champion is currently projecting to be one of the lowest-owned options in DraftKings' $7,000-range despite entering the week in solid form. He's made the cut in five of his last six starts, including three finishes inside of the top-20 and a T4 result at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson earlier this month. Wallace's driving inaccuracy could be mitigated at a course where many golfers opt to club-down off-the-tee, and his tidy short game should serve him well with a low greens-in-regulation percentage expected this week. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks 19th around-the-green, 41st in sand saves and 29th in par 4 scoring, and he's capable of spiking with the flat-stick any given week. In his only RBC Canadian Open start in 2022, Wallace gained 5.7 strokes in the short game en route to a T35 finish. Golf fans and fantasy managers should not be shocked if Wallace ends up at toward the top of the leaderboard coming down the stretch on Sunday.--Ryan Hickey

Matt Wallace had a long rough patch before winning last year at the Corales Puntacana Championship. The English golfer has endured this odd pattern where he makes the cut twice, misses twice, then makes twice. Last week, Wallace made the cut and finished tied for 17th at the Valspar Championship. This was the best result of 2024 for Wallace. The Houston golf course penalizes golfers who are a bit short and inaccurate on their drives. Unfortunately, Wallace is 166th in driver accuracy at 51.39%. Wallace will need to putt extremely well especially given the 7.435 yard course. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Matt Wallace found himself in top form on the DP World Tour in the second half of the 2023 calendar year. The 33-year-old Brit racked up four top-10 finishes in his final eight starts, culminating with a T2 finish at the DP World Tour Championship in November. Unfortunately, those results haven't been replicated on the PGA Tour, as he's failed to post a top-25 finish in 22 consecutive starts since his victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship in March of 2023. But Wallace looks to be a solid course fit for Copperhead, and could potentially replicate his T7 finish at last year's tournament. His inaccuracy driving should be mitigated with golfers opting to club-down off-the-tee, and over the last 24 rounds, he ranks 24th in par 5 scoring, 30th in scrambling and 9th overall on difficult courses. Wallace should be on the radar of fantasy managers this week at a mere $6,400 on DraftKings.--Ryan Hickey

Matt Wallace found himself in incredible form on the DP World Tour in the second half of the 2023 calendar year. The 33-year-old Brit racked up four top-10 finishes in his final eight starts, culminating with a T2 finish at the DP World Tour Championship in November. Unfortunately those results haven't been replicated on the PGA Tour, as he's failed to post a top-25 finish in nineteen straight stars since his victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship in March of 2023. Wallace has also lost strokes ball-striking in four of his five PGA Tour starts this calendar year, which is a recipe for disaster at Vidanta Vallarta. This may help explain his course history here, which is a T67 in 2022 and a missed cut in 2023. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for value in the $7,000 price range on DraftKings this week.--Ryan Hickey
