Matt Vierling Connects For 10th Home Run Wednesday
5 months agoDetroit Tigers third baseman Matt Vierling went 2-for-4 with a double and his 10th home run of the season in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Phillies. The home run was a solo shot and the 27-year-old also doubled in the contest while scoring twice. Although it was his second multi-hit game in his last four, it has been a rough month for the former third-round draft pick. After slashing .306/.337/.588 in May, the right-handed hitter is slashing .191/.226/.360 in June. Overall on the season, he owns a .254-10-32-35-0 line with a .317 wOBA and 105 wRC+. Vierling is probably only rosterable in deeper leagues, but he is eligible at both 3B and OF in Yahoo leagues, which gives managers flexibility.
