1 year agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling has been placed on the 10-day injured list with low back soreness. It's one of a flurry of moves for the Tigers Tuesday afternoon as ace Eduardo Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day IL with a finger injury while infielder Tyler Nevin and pitcher Braden Bristo have been recalled in corresponding moves. Acquired from the Phillies in the offseason, Vierling is hitting .241 with four homers, four stolen bases, and a .649 OPS across 46 appearances on the campaign. His .324 xwOBA exceeds his .288 wOBA so far this season, so it's possible an uptick in production could be on the horizon upon his return to the lineup.--Brenton Kemp
