Matt Strahm To Be Activated On Tuesday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres reliever Matt Strahm (knee) is expected to be activated from the IL before Tuesday's tilt with the Oakland Athletics. After undergoing offseason knee surgery, the left-hander had fanned seven over 3 ⅔ frames in a rehab assignment at Triple-A. With a starting rotation in flux, Strahm's return will bolster the Friars pitching depth and he should assume various roles in high leverage and long relief. The 29-year-old has been a stalwart for the Friars the past three seasons, appearing in 106 games while registering a 3.66 ERA and 9.2 K/9. He's a flyer pickup in holds formats for ratio support and a handful of rogue victories, but isn't a fantasy option in standard leagues.
