Matt Strahm Tallies Third Straight Quality Start
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Matt Strahm collected his first win Thursday, spinning six innings of two-run ball against the Atlanta Braves. Strahm was breezing through five innings before wobbling in his final frame, surrendering eight total knocks, walking none and striking out six. The 27-year-old now has three consecutive quality starts and hasn’t allowed more than two runs since his first outing on April 1. He holds a strong 3.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 7.4 K/9. While Strahm should be universally owned, he could transform into a high-end fantasy asset if he can boost his 19 percent strikeout rate. He’s approved for use at home next week against the New York Mets.
