Matt Ryan Should Remain A Reliable Option In 2021
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has been a reliable fantasy signal-caller over the past several years, a trend that should continue under new head coach Arthur Smith in 2021. Ryan has thrown for at least 4000 passing yards and 25 touchdowns in eight of the last 10 seasons, eclipsing the 600 passing attempt mark in seven of those campaigns. While the Falcons offense won't completely about-face to a run-first unit, Smith figures to field more of a balanced attack, which could limit Ryan's passing volume, but in turn, lead to a more efficient output. The loss of future Hall of Famer Julio Jones certainly hurts, but Ryan still has some weapons in tow, including breakout star Calvin Ridley, talented draft pick Kyle Pitts, and potential sleeper Russell Gage. Fantasy investors shouldn't bank on Ryan as a surefire QB1 given his lack of mobility, but he makes for a high-end QB2 with a cheap 116 ADP.
