Matt Manning Makes Second Start Of The Season Tuesday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers pitcher Matt Manning will make his second start of the season Tuesday as the Tigers travel to the Rogers Centre in Toronto to battle the Blue Jays. Manning, 25, surrendered two earned runs across 5 2/3 innings against the Red Sox in his season debut on April 4, striking out four against two walks. While Manning has been solid across 13 starts beginning last season, he's still lacking the big strikeout numbers he turned in throughout his minor-league career. The right-hander owns a weak 16.2% K% and 8.2% K-BB% in his young career after hovering around a 30% K% or better earlier in his minor-league tenure. Nonetheless, he'll be in tough Tuesday against a loaded Blue Jays lineup in the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre.
