Matt Manning Delivers First Quality Start On Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning had the best start of his young career against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. Manning pitched six innings and allowed four hits, two walks and two runs (one earned) while striking out four. It was his first quality start and he picked up his second win of the year in the outing. Manning is now 2-3 with a 5.79 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP over six starts this year. He's really struggled to record strikeouts so far with just 13 strikeouts over 28 innings. Still, Wednesday's outing was a big step in the right direction. He will likely make his next start on Monday against the Minnesota Twins.
