Matt Manning Completes Bullpen Session Saturday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning (bicep) threw a bullpen session on Saturday. This was the first time he'd thrown off a mound during his current throwing regimen. He was previously throwing off flat ground from 150 feet. He is currently in Lakeland, the town of the Tigers' Single-A affiliate, and the plan is for him to continue working out there until he receives a rehab assignment. The 24-year-old was first placed on the injured list in mid-April due to right shoulder inflammation. His initial rehab assignment was paused about a month ago when he began dealing with bicep tendinitis. He had a 2.25 ERA and 0.75 WHIP over two starts prior to landing on the injured list.
