Matt Manning Allows Four Runs In Monday's Loss
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning struggled in Monday's outing against the Minnesota Twins. He pitched five innings and allowed five hits, one walk and four earned runs while striking out four. After the game, Manning said that he had changed the grip on his curveball between his previous start and Monday's start. He also introduced a two-seamer in Monday's game for the first time this year. Manning is one of the team's top pitching prospects, but he's struggled in his first tour of the majors. He has a 6.00 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over seven starts this year. He'll make his next start on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles.
