Matt Magill Makes 2020 Debut
4 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Matt Magill pitched one scoreless inning while giving up one hit, one walk and striking out two Astros in Sunday's win. Magill was projected to be the closer for Seattle to start 2020 and though Taylor Williams got the save, Magill likely still has the job. Magill came in for the fifth inning when the Mariners were losing after not making an appearance so far this season. The Mariners made a late game comeback to put them into a save situation and that is why Williams got the chance. It's very likely that the Mariners just wanted to give Magill some playing time and brought him in while they were losing to get some action. Fantasy owners should feel confident that the next save opportunity will go to Magill.
