Matt Harvey Solid Again
6 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Matt Harvey pitched effectively again for the Reds on Saturday. He threw 5 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs (three total) on nine hits with one walk and four strikeouts. This marked Harvey's fifth consecutive start in which he has pitched at least five innings while allowing three earned runs or less. Though he is certainly not what he once was, Harvey could be an interesting value play in deeper leagues if he is still available on the waiver wire and you need pitching help. It would be wise to monitor his matchups fairly closely, as he never feels too far away from a blowup.
