Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (lower body) took part in practice on Wednesday. The Bruins had two days off from their last game on Monday, so this gives Grzelcyk lots of time to rest up. Grzelcyk switched with Nick Holden on the third pairing that includes Adam McQuaid, so most likely if a defenseman is to be swapped, it will be Holden. Grzelcyk doesn't have any fantasy value, however, his defensive presence makes Tuukka Rask more valuable. Stay tuned for whether he will return for Game 4 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.--Caden

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (upper body) sustained an injury during their loss on Sunday evening against the New York Rangers. The defenseman took a hard hit from New York forward Matt Rempe and did not return to the contest. He logged only five minutes of ice time before the injury and did not get on the scoresheet. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next game on Tuesday evening against the Philadelphia Flyers. If Grzelcyk were to miss some time, Vincent Desharnais or Vladislav Kolyachonok could draw into the starting lineup. Across 59 contests with the Penguins, Grzelcyk has tallied 28 points (27 helpers) with 70 shots on goal, 25 hits, and 72 blocked shots.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk appears to be back in the lineup for Tuesday's Game 5 versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. The rear guard didn't stay out late during Tuesday's morning skate while Derek Forbort, Kevin Shattenkirk, Jakub Lauko, and Linus Ullmark did. It appears Grzelcyk will take Shattenkirk's spot in the lineup. The 30-year-old didn't appear in either of the two games in Toronto after playing in the series' first two games in Boston. For the season, Grzelcyk tallied two goals and 11 points on 59 shots across 63 games, blocking 76 shots while adding a plus-13 rating to his ledger. The Bruins can win the series with a victory on Tuesday on home ice.--Brenton Kemp

Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (leg) is considered day-to-day following his early exit on Wednesday versus Edmonton. He was hurt on his first shift when Grzelcyk was slashed to the leg by Oilers forward Ryan McLeod. The 30-year-old was primed for more responsibility on the Bruins blue line following Hampus Lindholm's (undisclosed) exit from the lineup. The latter has already been ruled out for Boston's four-game road trip, and an injury to Grzelcyk would be a further setback for the team. Grzelcyk has tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) in 43 games this season with 47 shots, 39 hits, and 46 blocks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (upper body) will sit out Friday's matchup against Winnipeg. He hasn't joined the team for a brief two-game road trip ahead of the holiday break, so we likely won't see him on Saturday versus the Wild either. Grzelcyk sustained an upper-body injury in a battle with Minnesota on Tuesday. The 29-year-old has massively struggled this season, logging only one point across 20 appearances. Mason Lohrei is set to take over his spot in the lineup on Friday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
