Matt Duffy Provides All The Offense Thursday
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy was the team's offensive star Thursday versus Boston. His eighth-inning two-run home run put the Rays up 2-0. It would get to the bottom of the ninth, when their closer, Alex Colome, would blow the two-run lead in a blown save, which lead to the eventual 12-inning, 3-2 loss. The main negative of his season so far is the fact that he has not drawn a walk yet. In his last healthy season in 2015, he batted .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. Duffy's floor is fairly solid as long as he stays healthy. Duffy just turned 27 years old as the 2018 season started and should be owned in deeper leagues, especially in AL-only formats.
