Matt Duffy Makes His Return Saturday Versus Los Angeles
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy made his return from his hamstring injury Saturday versus the Angels. He went hitless but walked twice. His return helped the Rays to decide to call up pitching help instead of another infielder in response to the DL stint for Hechavarria. He is batting .315 with two home runs and 14 RBI while often batting in favorable spots in the lineup. In his last healthy season in 2015, he batted .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. Duffy's floor is fairly solid as long as he is healthy. Duffy just turned 27 years old as the 2018 season started and should be owned in deeper leagues, especially in AL-only formats.
