Matt Duffy Looks To Finally Deliver For Rays Fans
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy missed all of 2017 due to injury. He has been battling problems and had setbacks since he joined the Rays and admits that he would be skeptical at this point if he was in the shoes of the fans. He was able to fully test his repairs during the offseason, so it appears the injury is in the past. Spring training will mostly be about building up the specific conditioning and stamina for professional baseball. In his only full season of 2015, he showed offensive potential. In that season, he hit .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. He will be 27 years old when the 2018 season starts, where he hopes that finally being healthy enough will let him see if he can build upon the promise of his lone full season. The Rays currently plan to make him the starter at third base and also bat him near the top of the order, which would be a boon to his fantasy value.
