7 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy batted third in the batting order for the last spring warmup game Tuesday. In his last healthy season in 2015, he batted .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. Duffy will be 27 years old when the 2018 season starts, and he hopes the multiple surgeries and season off will have him healthy enough to see if he can build upon the promise of his lone full season. He is expected to start at third base for the Rays, so he does have some value in deeper leagues or AL-only formats. The idea that he could bat in the middle of the order would offer even more upside if it becomes a regular event in the regular season.--Jamie Mellor
