Ottawa Senators center Matt Duchene is expected to miss the next three games due to awaiting the birth of his first child. The Senators are currently on a three-game road trip that starts on Wednesday in Anaheim and ends on Saturday in San Jose. The 27-year-old has been excellent in his first full season in Ottawa in 2018-2019 - posting 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists), eight power-play points and 90 shots on goal in 37 games as the team's top center. When Duchene likely returns to the lineup on January 16th, he'll be looking to extend a personal four-game points streak.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene wishes to extend his stay with the team and is willing to settle for less money to make it happen. "Money is definitely not the No. 1 bucket and never has been for me," Duchene said while talking on The Sweet Spot on Sports Radio 96.7 FM/1310 the Ticket. Duchene added that he hopes to figure out a new contract "quickly" with Dallas. The veteran forward inked a one-year, $3 million deal with the Stars last summer after the Nashville Predators bought out the final three years of his seven-year, $56 million deal with the club. Duchene enjoyed a solid 65-point campaign in Texas, posting 25 goals and 40 assists in 80 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene scored off a net-front scramble in double overtime of Game 6 to secure Dallas' spot in the Western Conference Final. Duchene's goal gave the Stars a 2-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche, sending the former packing. In a "puck don't lie" moment, Duchene scored the game-winner after being involved in a controversial goaltender interference call earlier in overtime that many thought should have ended the game in the Stars' favor. It ended up not mattering, though, as Duchene scored his second goal of the postseason at the most opportune time. He's added four assists to total six points in 13 playoff games in a depth role for the Stars.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene (lower body) is considered a game-time call for Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers. He was a late scratch for Monday's meeting with Boston and might have to sit out a second consecutive game. The Stars have called up one of their top prospects, Logan Stankoven, from the AHL to fill in for Duchene if needed on Tuesday. The 20-year-old has been on fire in the minors, producing a league-high 57 points (24 goals, 33 assists) in 46 AHL appearances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene missed Monday's contest against Boston with a lower-body injury. Duchene took part in the pre-game warm-ups but didn't play. It was the second game Duchene missed this season. His absence was a major blow for the Stars, as Duchene has been one of the team's in-form players lately, going for multiple points in four consecutive outings. He's totaled 22 goals and 55 points in 54 games for the season. Sam Steel skated in Duchene's spot on the second line Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
