3 years agoThe Oakland Athletics traded third baseman Matt Chapman to the Toronto Blue Jays for Kevin Smith, Gunnar Hoglund, Zach Logue and Kirby Snead. He is one of the best defensive third basemen in baseball. He now joins a loaded Toronto Blue Jays lineup, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, George Springer, and Teoscar Hernandez. The 28-year-old slashed .214/.314/.403 with 27 home runs, 72 RBI, 75 runs scored, and three stolen bases over 151 games for the A's in 2021. With a park upgrade and a better supporting cast, Chapman should improve on his 2021 numbers and is a borderline top-10 third baseman in mixed standard leagues.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
