Matt Chapman Resting On Wednesday
3 years agoOakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Houston Astros. Chapman has had his ups and downs this year, but he hasn't been at his best recently, so perhaps it's the perfect time for him to take a breather. The 28-year-old has disappointed with his .230/.326/.395 slash line, 11 home runs, 40 runs scored and 42 RBI in 350 plate appearances. However, he still has the talent to turn things around in the second half and is a fine buy-low candidate in redraft leagues. Chad Pinder will get the start at third and will hit ninth against Astros right-hander Luis Garcia on Wednesday. Pinder has struggled with the bat all season and is a desperation DFS play with just three home runs and a .214 batting average in 141 plate appearances in 2021.
