1 year agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman is open to returning to the club with his free agency looming following the conclusion of the 2023 World Series. Chapman said he has thoroughly enjoyed his time in Toronto following a departure from Oakland prior to the 2022 season and would certain welcome a return to the Blue Jays. He has been productive on both sides of the ball in a Blue Jays uniform, most recently hitting 17 homers with four stolen bases and a solid .754 OPS across 140 games this season. Additionally, his 39 doubles ranked fourth in the American League and tied for sixth in all of baseball. He is starting at third base and hitting eighth again for Wednesday's must-win Game 2 in Minnesota.--Brenton Kemp
